Q: What does the gauge of stainless steel mean? A: The gauge measures the thickness of the stainless steel. 18 gauge is 1.2 mm thick, while 16 gauge is thicker at 1.5 mm thick.

Q: How many strainers do I need to purchase? A: If you have a garbage disposal on a single bowl sink you will not need a strainer. If you have a garbage disposal on one side of a double bowl sink you will need to purchase one strainer for the other bowl.
